nice price deal !!! it s been a big shock for all of us to hear the sad news that our good friend andreas gehm passed away this year. his last big project is the -worldwide electronics- - series on his own label -cologne underground- which brings his friends from all over the world together. the idea of worldwide electronics is to combine music from all over the world on one album (in fact, there will be a vol.2 too). the second idea was to combine well known artist with newcomer. when gehm, who runs cologne underground together with dbh distribution, ask the artist for tracks, he dont ask for any specific style. the artist were free to deliver whatever they want. so at the end it ended up from deep house (oldschool definition, not edm definition) to acid. worldwide electronics vol.1 contains one track from greece (dimdj), germany (hardfloor), netherlands (baz reznik), england (perseus traxx), columbia(s.valencia) 2 tracks from japan (takeshi kouzuki and jin-cromanyon) and the first of hopefully a row of collaboration tracks from legowelt (netherlands) and elec pt.1 (germany) as gehm & wolfers).

daniel meuzard aka feater originally hails from a small mountain village in the western austrian alps. the music producer with north african roots calls vienna his home for quite some time now. for more than ten years he has been involved in electronic music and working with analog synthesizers and classic tape recording. as an owner of a studio equipment shop he was able to get his hands on a wide variety of equipment. experimenting with different instruments and recording techniques helped him to develop his own musical ideas. in 2013 he released the 7inch vinyl single digital love on paradeis garage. in february 2015 he recorded his debut album waste the time on a 8track tape recorder and finalized it together with the producer and recording engineer sam irl in the summer of 2015. as a member of the finishgermanaustrian group skymax (along with stilettiana & sam irl) he released the vinyl ep trucker trans on his own label called international major label

having originally surfaced on creme organization back in 2002, luke eargoggle and ronnie johansson s monkeyshop project is an intermittent treat that offers the best of warm synth-led electronic disco. on their second outing for ali renault s vivod label (after the excellent escape from the mental zoo ep in 2014) the pair bring yet more of that addictive, utopian dance magic on this new record. -island of love- is indeed a romantic club burner with smatterings of vintage synth pop in its bones, while -heartbreak- takes a more overtly italo direction and sounds just as strong with it. obergman then takes -island of love- to task with a respectful remix that shines a few different synth lines and beat patterns through the same fuzzy prism.

it s not all minimal techno in romania, as the p-balans crew ably demonstrate on this second release from local hero the holy fix. the synths come down thick and gloopy on -the void- before -slagwise- ramps up the horror tones with a perfect distillation of what makes a soundtrack pop off. this is nightmarish disco music in the vein of maiovvi and the like, and it s delivered impeccably. there is a greater focus on club tones amongst the atmospheric fx on tracks & traps though, with -quite vicious- in particular conjuring up a thrilling, madcap romp through buffed up disco techno.

crimes of the future is the kind of label you can trust, no matter who is at the controls. the same could be said for giallo disco, and certainly the two labels orbit a similar space for lurid soundtrack-inspired hardware jams from the italo age. vercetti technicolor is one half of the giallo team alongside antoni maiovvi, and here steps out with a perfectly bombastic range of compositions that revel in b-movie brilliance. -golden taurus- is the perfect slow-burner, those mono bass notes warming like no soft synth ever could, while -topaz fear- brings a more action-driven sequence into the mix. -death wish- too opts for a pumped up club scenario, while heinrich dressel smokes out -golden taurus- into a seedy slow-jam.

african scream contest is the third release by the analog africa label. the project initially took off in august 2005 when label owner and vinyl collector samy ben redjeb arrived in cotonou, benin, without any special expectations, just hoping to lay my hands on few good records - what i found in the process cannot really be described in words-. this first trip was followed by eight more to the region. thirty months and few thousand records later analog africa proudly presents this 14-track compilation. redjeb conducted 16 interviews in various cities in benin and togo with artists, producers and sound engineers to reconstruct the history of the 70s music scene for the 44 pages booklet which also features many rare photographs directly received from the artists. delve into the forgotten raw and psychedelic afro sounds from 70s benin and togo and experience the african scream contest. very, very limited copies in, and this might notcome in anymore.... tip!
